Battle Over Berlin 2 Walkthrough
Battle Over Berlin 2 is the sequel to the airplane game, Battle Over Berlin. Battle Over Berlin 2 takes the basic controls of its predecessor and improves the gameplay, controls, and engine of the game. Two player games have been omitted in this airplane game.
The objective of Battle Over Berlin 2 is to destroy as many enemy units as possible while in the cockpit of your powerful P-51 Mustang. Unlike the first Battle Over Berlin where you only had to deal with a single enemy aircraft, you must deal with aircraft, ships, and ground troops in this airplane game! You start the game with five lives. Taking enemy fire depletes the health bar, and crashing results in instant death. When all lives are lost, the game is over.
Battle Over Berlin 2 uses a modified version of its predecessor's control scheme. The up arrow key is used to increase your throttle and the left and right arrow keys pitch your plane up and down respectively. This time, the up arrow key must be held to maintain thrust; if you want to slow down, simply release the key. Although the instruction screen of this airplane game says that the spacebar is used to shoot, in actuality, the Z key is used to shoot. The X key is used to drop bombs.
Battle Over Berlin 2 also features a variety of new powerup crates. Powerups include extra lives, bonus points, and additional bombs. Unlike this airplane game's predecessor, you can collect powerups in midair this time. I advise you to collect powerups whenever you can do so without crashing; you're going to need them!
Battle Over Berlin 2 is an improvement over its predecessor, but it is still a unforgiving airplane game. You cannot dogfight a friend in this sequel, but the singleplayer experience is much more refined and entertaining.
